Markus has been the pastor of Copper Coast Baptist Church since January, 2010. Prior to this he was the lead Pastor of Salisbury Baptist Church for three and a half years. Markus has served as a Baptist Pastor for over ten years.
Markus received his accreditation as a Baptist Pastor upon the completion of his Bachelor of Ministry and Graduate Diploma of Ministry from Burleigh College in 2006 and he was formally ordained at Salisbury Baptist Church not long after. Markus is currently undertaking a Masters of Ministry at Tabor College to better equip him for his future ministry.
Markus is passionate about church health and conflict resolution, in particular helping to transform the church into healthy, compassionate followers of Jesus.
Prior to becoming a Baptist Pastor, Markus worked in the area of retail sales management and he also has a trade background in cabinet making. The latter has come in handy with the renovation of our new church building!
Markus’ passion is to equip people to grow in their faith and to share their love of Jesus with coworkers, family and friends.
Markus’ preaching ministry is focused on helping people discover new meaning in the scriptures to transform their daily lives.
Markus has been married to Alison since 1992 and they have two much-loved school-aged children, Jakob and Chloe.
Markus enjoys motorcycle riding, travel and photography and sometimes he is able to combine all 3 interests.
